St Marks Sqaure

St Marks Basilica; famous for being the final resting place of St Mark himself. Here you can discover the remarkable story of how Venetian merchants smuggled his corpse out of Egypt in a cargo ship layered in cabbage leaves and pork. The Basilica only became the official Venetian Cathedral in 1807 after previously being the private chapel for the Doge family. Today though, tourists flock to it to marvel at its beauty. It truly is a sight to behold. With over 8000 square metres covered in mesmerising Mosaics. Youโ€™ll also find many โ€˜stolenโ€™ treasures from across Europe. Be sure to dress modestly though, despite the thousands of daily visiting tourists the Basilica is still a functioning church.

The Salute

Santa Maria della Salute (English: Saint Mary of Health), commonly known simply as the Salute, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica located at Punta della Dogana in the Dorsoduro sestiere of the city of Venice, Italy.

It stands on the narrow finger of Punta della Dogana, between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal, at the Bacino di San Marco, making the church visible when entering the Piazza San Marco from the water. The Salute is part of the parish of the Gesuati and is the most recent of the so-called plague churches.

The Bridge of Sighs

The Bridge of Sighs (Italian: Ponte dei Sospiri ) is a bridge in Venice, Italy. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone, has windows with stone bars, passes over the Rio di Palazzo, and connects the New Prison (Prigioni Nuove) to the interrogation rooms in the Dogeโ€™s Palace. It was designed by Antonio Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte designed the Rialto Bridge, and it was built in 1600.

The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment.

Burano & Murano

Burano is 7 kilometres (4 miles) from Venice, a 45-minute trip from St. Markโ€™s Square by Vaporetto, a Venetian water bus. Burano is also known for its small, brightly painted houses, which are popular with artists. The colours of the houses follow a specific system, originating from the golden age of its development. If someone wishes to paint their home, one must send a request to the government, who will respond by making notice of the specific colours permitted for that lot. โ€“ Wikipedia

The Grand Canal

The Grand Canal (Italian: Canal Grande is a channel in Venice, Italy. It forms one of the major water-traffic corridors in the city.
The banks of the Grand Canal are lined with more than 170 buildings, most of which date from the 13th to the 18th century, and demonstrate the welfare and art created by the Republic of Venice. The noble Venetian families faced huge expenses to show off their richness in suitable palazzos; this contest reveals the citizensโ€™ pride and the deep bond with the lagoon. โ€“ Wikipedia

Lido Jesolo

The Lido di Jesolo, or Jesolo Lido, is the beach area of the comune of Jesolo in the province of Venice, Italy. The placeโ€™s economy is mostly based on tourism because of its 15 km-long beach. Each hotel surrounding the beach has its private beach section with tables, umbrellas and sun loungers for that hotel only. โ€“ Wikipedia
