Mount Vesuvius
Close to Naples, it’s an absolute gem of a day out. Picture yourself hiking up to its summit, surrounded by breathtaking views and the thrill of being close to such an iconic natural wonder, and you’ll learn in-depth about the historic eruption that buried the ancient city of Pompeii, preserving it in time.
A great way to learn about history and geography without having to sit in a classroom.
Phlegraen Fields
Just to the west of Naples, the Phlegraean Fields (Campi Flegrei), is an incredible place filled with natural wonders. The fields are filled with craters, geysers and even hot springs. There is also an archaeological site too, making this a day filled to the brim with the wonders of nature and millennia of history.
Paestrum
Paestum, located on the southern coast of Italy, is an incredible ancient Greek city that you absolutely shouldn’t miss. The ruins there are renowned for their stunning three Greek temples, built around 550 to 450 BC and remarkably well-preserved. As you explore the site, you’ll be amazed by the intact city walls, the amphitheatre, and the remnants of other structures and paved roads. You’ll also visit the modern national museum, where you can admire the artefacts unearthed from the nearby Greek site of Foce del Sele.
Pompeii
A city whose story is so notorious Bastille wrote a song about it. Wander through the remarkably preserved ruins and imagine life as it once was in 79 AD. The preserved buildings, intricate frescoes, and even the haunting casts of the volcano’s victims tell a powerful story. Strolling along the streets of Pompeii is like stepping into a time machine, transporting you to a bygone era. A must-visit.
Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is as picturesque as you could imagine. Crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, lush vineyards & lemon groves, pastel-coloured buildings, winding roads, fresh seafood, homemade pasta, the list is limitless. It would be wrong to visit this part of the world and not visit this jewel of the Mediterranean.
Capri
A small island off the coast of Naples, Capri is an absolute gem. Gorgeous waters, cliff-sides that rival Dover, and that’s just the natural geography.
Capri offer upscale boutiques from Italy’s most notable names, boujee cafes and beautiful views as far as the eye can see. You’ll get the chance to visit the Blue Grotto, Gardens of Augustus and wonder around the town itself. Sounds good, right?

Aurora Borealis
Aurora Borealis? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localised entirely within your kitchen country?
Only viewable during the colder months, but my word is it is worth the wait. The celestial phenomenon will have your jaw on the floor and be the reason you want to come back to Iceland. If you visit during the summer… just come with us again in winter.
